Luana Bassil

B. 1993, Lebanon


Luana Bassil is a Lebanese filmmaker and photographer born and raised in Beirut. She developed her taste in movies since her young age, having spent all of her childhood watching and discovering films. She then decided to pursue her studies in filmmaking at IESAV, USJ. She started taking photos of her entourage on a daily basis with a film camera, and developed a world where she would emerge herself and her subjects as she was doing it.
One of her favorite things to shoot is the human body in all its forms, coming from a world where this was mostly suppressed.
She is now based in Brussels and is pursuing a masters in videography.
